“Nancy’s Choice” was the name of the cafe and catering business Nancy owned in Halifax, Nova Scotia, before she made the choice to change course entirely and moved to Minnesota work as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), dedicating her talents to financials, budgets, and employee benefits. She loves the variety of being a part of several teams, as she’s done for twelve years with Studio501. “I find that nonprofit people are so focused on the arts, social justice, and the underserved that they are usually not business-minded,” Nancy says. “They need us to make sure their finances are in order to carry out their missions.” Quality time with grandchildren and golfing is how she spends her time away from the books.
