JJ Gisselquist
Studio Accountant
JJ is a recent graduate of Normandale Community College’s Accounting program and is a passionate supporter of non-profit organizations. Having grown up in the performing arts, JJ spent the majority of his extracurricular time participating in programming with a variety of non-profit theaters and arts organizations around the Twin Cities like the MN Opera. He is very happy to be working with Studio501 helping similar organizations make a difference in their community.
In addition to his work at Studio501, JJ also serves as the Managing Director of Morningside Theatre Company (MTC) – a youth-focused theater company in Edina. At MTC, he oversees their financials and CRM system. MTC is also in the process of receiving their own 501(c)(3) status, giving JJ unique insight into the initial establishment of a non-profit organization and the creation of formal procedures at an arts organization.
When not doing accounting work, JJ works as a Music Director, Pianist and Sound designer for theaters around the Twin Cities. Recent credits include The Music Man (Lyric Arts), Sherwood (Normandale College Theatre) and Purple Rain (Pre-Broadway Run). JJ is also a proud member of the Twin Cities Musician’s Union Local 30-73.
