Julie joins Studio501 with over 20 years of accounting experience in both nonprofit and traditional accounting. She has been an Accounting Manager, Controller and Senior Accounting Manager. She was the Finance Manager at Community Shares of Minnesota, where she managed all accounting functions including preparing board financial reports, supporting strategic planning, and coordinating annual audits and 990 filings. She has experience in grant accounting, including reimbursement requests, grant proposals, and grant tracking. Throughout her career Julie has worked directly with Executive Directors, Controllers, and Board Finance Committees to support organizational goals.

When she is not working, she adores reading and listening to books. She started crocheting a couple years ago and she is currently working on a blanket for her first grandchild! She also considers herself a sourdough aficionado so if anyone needs a starter she can help you out. She loves cats. At one point she had 4 (too many – her words) but now just one and she is her favorite person. Her name is Bleu. In the summer you are likely to find her with her husband on a bike trail somewhere in the state – she loves to find new trails and plan trips around biking but the Stillwater loop and Brown’s Creek/Gateway Trail are her standard go-to’s.
